Yamaha unveils facelifted FZ

Yamaha just upped the oomph factor of its hit-machine the FZ-16. The new variants of the FZ-16, dubbed the FZ-S, come in two new colour schemes - Yellow Streak (black with yellow) and Silver Tech (silver with red). Apart from that the FZ-S comes with a new floating visor atop the instrument console. While we do think that the FZ-S looks sharper it is still a bit pricey for a 160cc at Rs 67,000 ex-showroom, Delhi. That makes it pricier by about Rs 2000 than the FZ-16.

Technically the FZ remains receives no upgrade to the engine, to the brakes, or the suspension. Tthe FZ was voted as the Bike of the Year 2009 at the UTVi Autocar Awards thanks to its sporty attitude, creamy smooth engine, versatile suspension and strong stropping power. But, even back then, we felt that the FZ needed more power and we recommended Yamaha to add more bang to an incredible motorcycle. While this round of upgrades should please the posers, we hope that Yamaha surprises us with an upgrade for the more spirited riders soon.
